Good food, good cause in Woodstock

Ric Orlando tells me there's going to be a fabulous chefs dinner on Tuesday (May 6) at his restaurant, New World Home Cooking, that will be a "100% Benefit" for the Woodstock Playhouse. It takes place from 6-10 p.m. and tickets are $100 (and tax deductible.) New World Home Cooking Company is on Route 212 between Woodstock & Saugerties.

There are more details posted by the organizers Woodstock Arts Board at the Woodstock Playhouse Web site.

Here is a peek at the menu:

Catskill Mountain Pizza
cocktail hors d’oeuvre

New World Home Cooking
crudite, dips & more yummy hors d’oeuvre

Joshua's Restaurant
cream of fiddlehead fern-lemon soup served w/ spring vegetable,
local herbed goat cheese salad in a rice paper wrap

Oriole 9
braised hake with crushed oats and wild spring herbs served with radish & cucumber sauce

New World Home Cooking
short ribs of beef with spring mushrooms and a red wine sauce accented
with Dutch chocolate

Lori's Creative Café
old fashioned strawberry rhubarb shortcake with mascarpone cream.

Oliver Kita Confections

There will be wine on all the tables and a cash bar. Each restaurant is donating a portion of the evening's costs.

There's more on the agenda -- the event will also have musical entertainment with the cabaret styles of Joan Roberts and Wendy Nief and many fabulous auction items.

Good food -- good cause!
